Festool Connect 2016 & Shaper Origin CNC Router

I recently attended the 2016 Festool Connect event at Festool's US headquarters in Lebanon, IN. Watch the video to see a behind-the-scenes tour of Festool's headquarters, including the customer service, repair, and training departments. I also had a minute to speak with Noah from Shaper Tools about their new handheld CNC router that will be debuting in 2017. Enjoy and make sure to subscribe if you don't already.

Festool also had the guys from Shaper Tools, makers of the Shaper Origin CNC, on hand and, honestly, I think they stole the show. Their area was by far the most crowded part of the event and everyone was pumped up to see the Shaper Origin in action in person. The device really is as amazing as it seems, and I can't wait to get one into my shop.

Overall, the Festool Connect 2016 event was a ton of fun. Registration was free, and Festool provided lunch plus free beer and wine. Not crappy beer either, good German beer plus some local Indiana craft beer (Sun King for the win!). Tom Silva, host of PBS's "This Old House", was also on-hand as a special guest speaker, and he signed autographs after he spoke.

If you're in the Midwest and love Festool, I would definitely recommend checking out Festool Connect 2017!
